“Athletes and Weekend Warriors need different treatment from someone who knows them and their injuries. I know them, because I am one of them.”Elizabeth Bourgeois
Understanding the Right Practitioner
I have always been a physical person. I love athletic activity and spent many years running Portland’s wacky fun races, half marathons, kayaking, hiking, snowboarding and alpine climbing. For the past 5 years, I’ve found great pleasure & gain training in the ancient Chinese internal martial arts, which I now enjoyably teach to patients.
Like many, my health is precious to me. Having the option to take my dog for a jog in the Columbia River Gorge or go on a bike ride is of great importance. I experienced various injuries during my years of running and outdoor activity. The repetitive motions and impact left me with tight hips and tight hamstrings, to name a few… but let’s be honest, running can often wind your body up even if it helps you wind down at first. That did not stop me! I would rather put the extra time into maintenance than not enjoy all the tempting fun life has to offer.
